I’m one of those people who finds something they want and waits patiently for the right deal to come along on it. Years ago, I decided on a Yashica T4 35mm film camera with a Zeiss Tessar T* f/3.5 35mm prime lens. Terry Richardson has infamously been using them in his shoots for years and I think it’s a cool camera for behind the scenes shots and for second shooters.
After watching them come and go on eBay for around $200 something I ran across one gently used on craigslist and snagged it for 50 bucks. I picked up a pack of 400 ISO film but and looking forward to trying a bunch of different film speeds on-location.
It’s a little too big to carry around in a pocket which is unfortunate, but is light enough to throw in a backpack or fanny pack for hiking.
Keep in mind the following photos were taken without studio lighting, with just the on-camera flash against a plain white wall.
